
MAM Awards Night 2024
February 2, 2025Tuesday, 25 February 2025 – Motorsports Association of Malaysia (“MAM”) proudly marked the return of the MAM Awards Night 2024, held at M Resort & Hotel Kuala Lumpur, following a six-year break. The evening was attended by prominent figures, including YB Hannah Yeoh and YB Anthony Loke, highlighting the Government’s continued support towards to the growth and development of the motorsports industry in Malaysia.
During his speech, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, President of MAM, shared, “Bringing back this event reflects our dedication to recognising the hard work and achievements in Malaysian motorsport. It is not just about winning but about creating a strong, sustainable future for the sport. Tonight, we celebrate those who have contributed to taking Malaysian motorsports to new heights, and we look forward to a bright future. Our goal is to make this an annual fixture in the motorsports calendar.”
The evening also saw AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad (“AEON Credit”) stepping in as the new title sponsor for the event. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the continued development of Malaysian motorsports, showcasing top local talents while furthering the the sports in the years to come.

The evening featured 22 award categories, including several new honors, celebrating the outstanding contributions of Malaysian athletes, teams, and organizations to both local and international motorsports.
The Malaysia Motorsports Hall of Fame inducted three exceptional individuals; including Datuk Ahmad Mustafa, a key figure in establishing Sepang International Circuit (SIC) as a prominent venue for both local and international races; Barry Leong Foo Hin, who helped shape the careers of renowned riders like Syahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini, Hafizh Syahrin, and Wazi Abdul Hamid; and Wazi Abdul Hamid, known as the “Raja Kapcai”.
In recognition of the immense contribution to bringing the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix to Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for a major milestone that put Malaysia on the global motorsports map, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Allahyarham Tan Sri Basir Ismail.
This event was made possible through the generous support of AEON Credit, alongside other esteemed sponsors including GINTELL, Safe Aim Mutual, RCB, MODENAS, Porsche Malaysia and Aprilia. The invaluable contributions were key to the event’s success of MAM Awards Night 2024.
