Thursday, 16 January 2025 – Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) hosted a media session today at M Resort & Hotel Kuala Lumpur, announcing the return of the prestigious MAM Awards Night 2024 set to take place on 25 February 2025 in the same venue. After a six-year hiatus, this 4th edition event promises a grand comeback, featuring an exciting refreshed format,
that reflects the ever-evolving landscape of Malaysian motorsports.
MAM Awards Night 2024 will be a key occasion to honour and celebrate outstanding contributions by individuals and organisations to the growth of Malaysian motorsports. This includes competitors to teams, officials, media, clubs, and various organizations that have played an instrumental role in elevating the sport.
Speaking at the event, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, President of MAM shared, “We are delighted to announce the comeback of the MAM Awards Night 2024 after six years. The first three editions, were held in partnership with PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with the last one taking place in 2019, just before the pandemic. Our mission remains unchanged – to provide platform for the motorsports community to come together and celebrate their achievements, both within Malaysia and globally. We are deeply grateful for the media’s ongoing support, and together, we will continue to drive the industry forward and achieve even greater success.”
In line with the event objectives, the event today also saw the introduction of Selection and Judging committee, carefully assembled by MAM. The committee consists of diverse panel of seasoned professionals, respected industry leaders and experts to ensure a fair, thorough and transparent process. Among the panellists are Tan Sri Azman Yahya, Dato’ Razlan Razali, Dato’
Rhiza Ghazi, Norismadi Abd Manap, Ronald Hogg, Alex Yoong and other notable industry figures.
This 2024 edition will feature 22 award categories, including 11 performance award categories, which will honour exceptional achievements by competitors in 2024. In addition, MAM has introduced 7 special recognition awards, with 3 selected categories open for public nomination alongside 4 media-related awards. These categories include:
- Most Distinguished Woman in Motorsports Award
- Industry Excellence Award
- Malaysia Motorsports Hall of Fame
- Malaysia Motorsports Icon
- Story of the Year (Electronic Media)
- Story of the Year (Online/Social Media)
- Photo of the Year
- Motorsports Journalist of the Year
The public is invited to submit nominations via an online form, available at MAM social media platforms, which will be open from 19 January 2025 to 31 January 2025.
